In her new book, Send In The Clowns, author Denise M. Cull, shares a true story of an extraordinary love and a rare glimpse into the undercurrents of the Catholic Church. Culls literary debut captures both the sweep of todays most topical issues on marriage and religion and the personal struggles and joys of two people who share an unwavering love that transcends tradition and societal conventions.

Send In The Clowns is a biographical account that depicts the romance and eventual marriage of two first cousins. As a Franciscan friar for forty years, Eric is committed to the Church, constantly challenging its absurdities and hypocrisies. Eva, on the other hand, experienced the luxury of a life of freedom in Sweden. She adventured widely before settling down to married life and commitment as a wife and mother. When the two of them meet, they will find themselves embarking on an odyssey of discovery which will reveal who they really are and what it truly means to love.

Culls work is a deeply affecting, multi-layered story that mirrors the sudden twists and turns that make life challenging and ultimately more meaningful. At one level exists the journey of Eric and Eva to a life of honesty, intimacy, love and marriage. On another level, it is a story of healing and overcoming personal crisisfor Eric it is the frustrations and issues that he experiences in the Catholic Church and for Eva, a dysfunctional marriage marred by alcohol. Thought-provoking and inspiring, Send In The Clowns is a triumphant testament of the power of true love and how it can become the guiding light in the complex maze of life.
